Duties

• Lead and supervise the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounts payable automation systems to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards across all financial transactions.
• Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and facilitate invoice approvals using financial software such as Workday, SAP, or similar systems.
• Conduct account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger adjustments related to accounts payable activities.
• Develop and enforce internal controls for data entry accuracy, invoice processing, and payment authorization procedures.
• Analyze accounts payable data using Excel formulas, VLOOKUP functions, and spreadsheet analysis tools to identify trends and improve processes.
• Collaborate with accounting teams on month-end closing activities, including accruals and audit support involving public accounting standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while ensuring compliance with company policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong focus on accounts payable management; experience in public accounting is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting systems such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, ADP or Kronos.
• Solid understanding of GAAP principles, SOX compliance requirements, and financial software integration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel data analysis including formulas, VLOOKUP functions, spreadsheets management, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation efficiently.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail for data entry accuracy and invoice processing.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of integrity.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and manage vendor relationships professionally.
