Responsibilities

• Lead the accounts payable team to process invoices accurately and efficiently using various financial software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
• Ensure all payments adhere to company policies, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards.
• Manage invoice approval workflows, resolve discrepancies, and facilitate timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
• Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable transactions with general ledger entries through detailed analysis and audit procedures.
• Implement and maintain accounts payable automation tools like Bill.com or Coupa to streamline processes and reduce manual data entry errors.
• Conduct regular audits of accounts payable records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, and external auditors to support month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Quicken, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other relevant systems.
• Develop training materials for staff on best practices in invoice processing, data entry accuracy, and compliance procedures.

Experience

• Proven experience managing accounts payable functions within a corporate accounting environment with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Extensive knowledge of financial software including ERP systems like SAP or Oracle Financials; familiarity with Workday or similar HRIS platforms is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze Excel data using formulas like VLOOKUP functions and advanced spreadsheet techniques for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Strong understanding of GAAP standards and SOX compliance requirements related to financial transactions and internal controls.
• Experience working in public accounting or within a corporate finance department with exposure to accounts receivable management and general ledger accounting is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining accuracy across multiple tasks.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors; ability to train team members on new processes or system updates.

Pay: $21.33 - $31.42 per hour
