Duties

• Lead and manage the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports.
• Oversee invoice entry, approval workflows, and payment scheduling using financial software such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements for internal controls and financial reporting.
• Reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts regularly, perform journal entries, and maintain detailed audit trails.
• Implement and improve accounts payable automation processes to streamline data entry, invoice processing, and payment workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, HRIS systems (like UltiPro or ADP), and external vendors to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
• Conduct analysis of accounts payable data using Excel formulas such as VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheets for reporting accuracy and insights.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong focus on accounts payable management.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits.
• Strong understanding of GAAP standards and SOX compliance protocols.
• Experience with accounts payable automation tools and electronic invoice processing platforms.
• Proficiency in Excel data analysis techniques including formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet functions.
• Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation, invoice validation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
