Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, validation, coding, and payment execution.
• Supervise and mentor the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
• Implement and maintain accounts payable automation tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual data entry.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and internal policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using financial software such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems to facilitate smooth operations.
• Perform account reconciliations, general ledger entries, and journal postings related to accounts payable activities.
• Conduct analysis of invoices and payment data using Excel functions like VLOOKUP, formulas, and pivot tables for reporting accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while managing vendor relationships and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare detailed reports on accounts payable metrics, aging analysis, and audit documentation for internal review or external audits.
• Support month-end closing activities by ensuring all payables are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.

Skills

• Extensive experience with accounting systems such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos or UltiPro.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
• Proven ability to manage accounts payable automation tools and leverage Excel data analysis skills for reporting purposes.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience implementing related controls within financial processes.
• Familiarity with public accounting practices and auditing procedures related to accounts payable functions.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analysis skills for invoice processing and account reconciliation tasks.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high standards of accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and resolving vendor inquiries efficiently.
