Responsibilities

• Lead the accounts payable team in processing invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee invoice approval workflows, ensuring adherence to company policies and SOX compliance standards.
• Manage vendor relationships, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely payments.
• Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger, ensuring consistency with the general ledger and other financial records.
• Utilize financial software such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms to automate processes and improve workflow efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls during all accounting activities.
• Prepare detailed reports on accounts payable activities using Excel data analysis techniques, including formulas like VLOOKUP for reconciliation purposes.
• Conduct regular account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of debits & credits to uphold financial accuracy.
• Support audit processes by maintaining meticulous records of transactions and ensuring adherence to SOX requirements.
• Handle confidential information with integrity while managing multiple tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and account reconciliation.

Experience

• Proven experience in accounts payable management or a similar finance role within a corporate setting.
• Extensive knowledge of accounting systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle Financials, or equivalent enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.
• Strong familiarity with financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and journal entries.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize financial software like Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, or Ceridian for payroll and HRIS integration is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel—for data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheet management.
• Experience working within public accounting environments or auditing firms is a plus.
• Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and identifying discrepancies promptly.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable automation tools and processes that streamline invoice processing and payment workflows.
