Accounts Payable Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounts payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
• Oversee invoice processing using various financial software systems such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle Financials, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
• Manage vendor relationships by resolving discrepancies, responding to inquiries, and maintaining accurate vendor records in systems like Paychex, ADP, or PeopleSoft.
• Implement and maintain accounts payable automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual data entry errors.
• Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by conducting regular audits of accounts payable processes and supporting internal/external audit requests.
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledgers with the general ledger through detailed account reconciliation procedures using Excel data analysis techniques such as VLOOKUP functions and formulas.
• Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable transactions and assist in month-end closing activities involving general ledger accounting.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending process enhancements using accounting systems like QuickBooks, Sage, or UltiPro.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong focus on accounts payable management; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of financial software including Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel for data analysis is essential.
• Deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX compliance requirements, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Familiarity with accounts payable automation tools such as UltiPro or ADP to streamline invoice processing workflows.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation, analyze spreadsheets for discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for handling high volumes of invoices and payments accurately.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and resolving vendor issues efficiently.

Pay: $31.00 - $42.00 per hour
