What they need

Employer of the Year 2026 Finalists: We’re proud to be finalists in the Employer of the Year categories at both the Wellington Post Gold Awards and the 2degrees Auckland Business Awards. This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where people feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work.

Who we are
We’re a small and close-knit team, but we play a critically important role in the efficient running and delivery of our professional services consultancy. Month-end and accurate, timely client billing are essential to the smooth operation of the business.

Assurity Consulting is a well-established software testing consultancy. We’re a team of nearly 200 consultants across New Zealand, delivering large and complex IT projects for clients across financial services, banking, government, agritech and other industries.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist who is willing and able to be our office administrator as well, to join our team on a fixed‑term basis. This role is at the heart of our day‑to‑day operations — supporting our people, keeping the office running smoothly, and ensuring our accounts payable function is delivered accurately and on time.

You will be the friendly, solutions‑focused, go‑to person for our team members, suppliers, and partners. Your work will to cover accounts payable, business support, event coordination, travel bookings, onboarding support, and IT assistance. If you enjoy variety, take pride in doing things well, and love being the person who keeps everything moving, this is the role for you.

What you’ll be doing
This is one of those roles where no two days are exactly the same. You’ll be the person helping keep the wheels turning behind the scenes, making sure the important things get done, the invoices get paid, the offices run smoothly and everyone has what they need to do their jobs.

Accounts Payable will be a key part of your role. You’ll manage the day-to-day accounts payable function, including supplier and contractor payments, reconciliations and responding to queries through the supplier inbox. You’ll also take care of coding travel and purchasing in our systems, making sure everything is where it needs to be and month-end doesn’t come as a surprise.

You’ll also provide Business & Office Support, helping keep our branches running smoothly. This includes being the friendly face at the front of house, coordinating maintenance requests, organising catering and logistics for meetings and events, and making sure we don’t suddenly discover we’ve run out of coffee, printer paper or stationery. You’ll coordinate national travel and accommodation, support branch and company events, and help induct new people into our branch and national processes. You’ll also be part of our fire warden and first aid teams — because apparently knowing where the stationery is isn’t enough responsibility!

There’s also a little bit of IT and systems support in the mix. You’ll help administer subscriptions, set up system access for new starters, enter data and coordinate the purchasing of IT assets such as laptops and other equipment. You’ll also manage purchase orders and help keep our IT-related administration organised. And don’t worry — you won’t be expected to become the IT helpdesk overnight. Our IT Manager is there to provide the technical support and backup you need.

Overall, this is a varied and hands-on role for someone who enjoys being organised, helpful and across a lot of different things. You’ll have plenty of autonomy, but you’ll also be part of a small team where everyone pitches in and gets things done.

This is a fixed term parental leave contract until August 2027 and we are looking for someone who is available to start immediately or with a short notice period.
