Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices using various financial software such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Manage accounts payable transactions, including data entry, invoice matching, coding, and approval workflows.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable activities, including accruals and adjustments, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Support accounts receivable management when necessary, including invoice processing and customer account reconciliation.
• Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports and performing account reconciliations of payable accounts.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements.

Skills

• Proficiency in accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft; experience with financial systems like UltiPro or Kronos is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
• Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with Excel formulas including VLOOKUP functions and spreadsheet analysis for data analysis tasks.
• Knowledge of accounts payable automation tools and electronic invoice processing methods to improve efficiency.
• Experience with financial compliance standards such as GAAP and SOX controls; ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and analysis efficiently.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and resolving vendor inquiries promptly.
