Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. Duties

• Process and verify all incoming invoices using various financial software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Perform data entry with precision, utilizing Excel formulas like VLOOKUP and double entry bookkeeping principles to reconcile accounts payable transactions.
• Manage invoice processing workflows, including approval routing, coding, and payment scheduling to ensure timely disbursements.
• Conduct account reconciliations for vendor statements and general ledger accounts related to accounts payable using accounting systems like PeopleSoft or Sage.
• Maintain detailed records of all transactions while handling confidential information with integrity and discretion.
• Support accounts payable automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors through systems like Paychex or UltiPro.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, journal entries, and compliance audits aligned with GAAP standards and SOX controls.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate accounting environment, ideally with exposure to public accounting practices.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in financial software including Workday, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or UltiPro is a plus.
• Skilled in Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and spreadsheets for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal controls related to accounts payable processes.
• Ability to handle high volumes of data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and auditors effectively.

Pay: $33.50 - $38.91 per hour
