Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role

Clark Hill PLC is seeking a is seeking an individual for the role of Accounts Payable Specialist for its Detroit office. The Accounts Payable Specialist works with the Accounts Payable team supporting the Firm’s vendor payment, expense reimbursement, and disbursement processes by administering invoice intake, coding, approval routing, payment execution, and vendor record maintenance within a controlled financial environment. This is a hybrid position once training is completed. This position will require the Accounts Payable Specialist to be in the office at least threedays per week.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Finance role or other related and relevant experience or an associate’s degree required.Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred.Experience in the legal field highly valued;

• Supports financial strategies for financial solutions by implementing specific programs with relevant internal and external customer groups;

• Receives, reviews, codes, and processes vendor invoices and payment requests in accordance with Firm procedures and approval requirements;

• Prepares payment batches and supporting documentation for checks, ACH, wires, virtual cards, and other disbursement methods;

• Processes employee expense reports and corporate card activity in accordance with Firm policy and reimbursement standards;

• Codes transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts, departments, offices, and, where applicable, client matters to support accurate billing recovery;

• Supports vendor onboarding activities, including collection and validation of required tax and banking documentation, in accordance with internal control requirements; and

• Reconciles vendor statements, maintains records, assists with 1099-related documentation, and supports month-end or year-end close activities tied to accounts payable.

Qualifications

• Understands and follows Firm policies and procedures related to financial risk.
• Must have sound judgment and business acumen when interacting with internal and external clients.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The salary range at the time of posting is $26.44 - $29.80 hourly/$55,000 - $62,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
