Accounts Receivable Analyst

Job Overview

Responsible for managing and analyzing the organization’s accounts receivable portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate resident billing, payment application, account reconciliation, collections support, and reporting.

ESSENTIAL JOB ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Enters payments received and monitors the accounts receivable aging reports.

· Monitors, investigates, and initiates necessary corrective measures accurately with regards to outstanding revenue/rent collections/rent billings (i.e., scorecard, rent roll, resident ledgers).

· Oversees all Yardi data management activities within the division and is responsible for data analysis and reporting.

· Records payments received from HACLA and other subsidy rent payments.

· Reviews regulatory agreements for all properties and gain understanding to ensure compliance with tax credit and affordable housing stipulations.

· Develops good working relationships with property staff to maximize collection and resolve discrepancies.

· Provides Yardi guidance as needed to property management team including property supervisors, hotel managers and assistant managers

· Monitors the commercial leased properties (contracts, negotiations, increases and status of collections)

· Coordinates with leasing office to ensure receipt of updated contracts (Section 8, etc) and addressing non-compliance issues.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related area with three to five years relevant experience in a social service organization; or an Associate degree in Accounting or related area with five years demonstrated successful experience in a community-based, social-service agency; college-level training with various computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant programs within the accounting area.

Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement.

Experience: Three or more years relevant experience. Familiar with Accounting and Property Management software (Yardi).

Skills: In-depth knowledge of housing related programs and the federal, state and local laws and regulations governing them; Ability to train managers and staff in the areas of Fair Housing Standards and rent collection and notice processes; Exceptional skills for attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and prioritize deliverables; Computer literacy including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) and YARDI; Ability to interact well with all levels of management, co-workers, and tenants; Excellent oral and written communication skills (English); Must be able to work independently and as a team

Experience:

• Accounts receivable: 3 years (Preferred)
• Property Management A/R: 3 years (Preferred)
