Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist to join our finance team. Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate invoices using billing software and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
• Manage accounts receivable by monitoring outstanding balances, performing collections activities, and resolving billing discrepancies promptly.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with general ledger entries to ensure consistency and accuracy across all financial records.
• Collaborate with clients to address billing inquiries, negotiate payment arrangements, and maintain positive relationships through professional communication.
• Utilize Excel data analysis skills and spreadsheets to track billing metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports for management review.
• Support the revenue cycle management process by processing journal entries, debits & credits, and performing account analysis to optimize cash flow.
• Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing detailed account reconciliations and supporting audit requests related to accounts receivable.

Experience

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts receivable management and billing processes.
• Strong knowledge of accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, credit analysis, and revenue recognition aligned with GAAP standards.
• Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with billing software is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Excel formulas, data entry, spreadsheet management, and Excel data analysis for reporting purposes.
• Experience working within SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance frameworks is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette for effective client communication and negotiation.
• Background in public accounting or governmental/non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required.
• Strong analytical skills for account reconciliation, account analysis, and technical accounting tasks related to the revenue cycle management process.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
