Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist

An established New York City law firm is seeking an Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with law firm billing or accounts receivable experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process client invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on outstanding invoices
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and client account issues
• Maintain accurate billing records and support month-end closing activities
• Communicate with attorneys, staff, and clients regarding billing and payment matters
• Assist with cash applications, reconciliations, reporting, and collections support
• Ensure compliance with firm billing guidelines and client requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts receivable and/or billing experience
• Law firm or professional services experience preferred
• Experience with Aderant or Elite is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/billing systems
