Accounts Receivable/Credit Controller

We’re looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building good customer relationships and making sure the numbers stack up.

But we’re also looking for more than someone to simply run the existing process.

Like the rest of Waitomo, our Finance team is actively exploring how AI, automation and smarter use of technology can remove repetitive work, improve accuracy and give our people more time to focus on the work that adds real value. There is plenty of opportunity within credit and accounts receivable, and we want this person to help us find it.

The Role

You’ll play an important role in managing our credit and accounts receivable function – from assessing new credit applications and monitoring customer accounts through to collections, reconciliations and resolving payment issues.

You’ll also be encouraged to challenge the way things are currently done, be curious, comfortable with technology and motivated to find a better way.

Key responsibilities include:

• Take ownership of our customer credit and debt management, including collections and payment arrangements
• Assess credit applications, monitor credit risk and proactively identify concerning trends
• Build strong customer relationships while confidently resolving overdue accounts, queries and disputes
• Maintain accurate accounts through reconciliations, investigation and sound AR management
• Provide meaningful credit insights and reporting to support good commercial decisions
• Challenge how we work – using AI, automation and technology to simplify processes, improve accuracy and create better ways of working

About You

You’ll be someone who takes ownership and follows things through. You’re confident dealing with customers, comfortable having firm but respectful conversations, and know how to balance good customer relationships with protecting the commercial interests of the business.

Importantly, you’ll also have a continuous improvement mindset. You’re interested in what technology can do, willing to experiment and learn, and comfortable challenging the status quo when you can see a better way.

You’ll bring:

• A passion for debt management.
• Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, credit analysis or a similar debt management role
• Strong collections and account management capability
• Confidence assessing credit risk and making sound decisions
• Strong numerical, reconciliation and analytical skills
• Confidence working with systems, financial data and technology
• A genuine interest in AI, automation and process improvement
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships
