Accout Executive

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Executive to join the finance team at HOMA Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing essential support to the broader finance function. This position is crucial to ensuring the company maintains robust financial controls and complies with all accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Recording financial transactions in the accounting system with accuracy and attention to detail
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger entries and supporting documentation
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies
• Preparing financial reports and statements under supervision
• Supporting the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Managing petty cash and ensuring proper documentation of expenses
• Assisting with invoice processing and expense claim verification
• Performing data entry and maintaining accurate accounting records
• Supporting audit activities and providing required documentation
• Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders on finance-related matters

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounts or finance role
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Understanding of relevant accounting standards and tax regulations in Malaysia
• Reliability and integrity when handling confidential financial information
• Preference for candidates with experience in manufacturing or engineering industries
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, LCCI or similar qualifications are advantageous
• Able communicate with Mandarin, Malay and English.
