About the company

Our client is a mission-led housing provider tackling the UK's housing shortage and homelessness crisis. They acquire and develop high-quality properties and, through partnerships with councils, housing associations and charities, provide permanent homes for people in need. Going beyond industry standard, they build sustainably and support tenants with internet access and housing management, and have already housed thousands of people across the UK.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Acquisitions Associate with real estate and social housing experience to join a growing team, reporting directly to a Director. You will play a key part in sourcing, assessing and securing properties that make a genuine difference to people's lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Building new long-term partnerships with councils, housing associations and charities, while maintaining existing council relationships
  • Liaising with agents to source suitable properties, both on and off-market
  • Carrying out viewings and initial due diligence on prospective properties
  • Preparing acquisition appraisals covering purchase price, refurbishment costs, rental yield and lease terms
  • Understanding council and housing association requirements, including space standards, HMO licensing and Local Housing Allowance rates
  • Maintaining the acquisitions pipeline tracker and reporting on progress weekly

About you

  • 1 to 2 years' experience with an estate agent or council
  • Knowledge of the social housing sector
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Confident with Excel and property appraisals
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to manage multiple deals at once
  • Full UK driving licence

Their values

  • Environmentally and socially conscious: sustainability-focused, with ongoing support for tenants once housed
  • Empathetic: decisions are always made with tenants and partners in mind
  • Experts: a young business backed by decades of combined property experience
  • Professional: reliable, high-quality service and a commitment to delivering
  • Collaborative: working closely with councils, housing associations, charities and agents

What's on offer

  • £30,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
  • 1% commission on completed acquisitions
  • Generous pension and holiday allowance
  • The chance to build a career in property with real social impact

If you're looking to use your property expertise to help tackle the housing crisis, apply now or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
