About Satellite Programs

Our Satellite Programs bring high quality group fitness classes directly into the community, making it easier for older adults to stay active, healthy, and socially connected. Delivered across the City of Boroondara, these programs are offered at neighbourhood centres, aged care homes, and retirement villages, providing convenient access to safe and engaging exercise opportunities close to home.

Classes are designed specifically for older adults and cater to a range of fitness levels and abilities. Participants can improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and overall wellbeing in a supportive and welcoming environment.

By partnering with local community venues and residential care settings, our Satellite Programs help reduce barriers to participation, encourage regular physical activity, and foster meaningful social connections. The program supports older adults to maintain their independence, confidence, and quality of life while remaining active members of their community.

About the role

As an Active Movers Instructor for our Satellite Programs , you will be responsible for leading a variety of group fitness classes for our older adults at our offsite program delivery locations across the City of Boroondara. You must have exceptional communication skills to effectively inform and demonstrate the benefits of participating in our classes. You must also be organised to ensure that our classes run smoothly and efficiently.

This is a casual position, with an hourly rate of $67.96 - $71.43 + super, experience dependent. Your primary location for this role will be Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre.

About you

As our Active Movers Instructor you will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for health and fitness. You will possess exceptional communication skills and can effectively motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals. You will have a deep understanding of various training styles and methods, and can cater to the needs of a wide range of clients during our classes.

Our ideal candidate is also highly organised, able to manage their time effectively, and can ensure the smooth running of our classes.

Above all, you will be a team player who can bring your own positive energy and enthusiasm to our team!

You will need experience in taking group fitness classes to be successful in this role.

Essential Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Fitness or approved equivalent
• Maintain current AUSactive registration
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
