Activities Assistant

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to participants interests, abilities, and care needs, including specialized programs for memory care and dementia patients
• Coordinate events, outings, and recreational therapies to promote socialization and mental stimulation
• Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene when needed
• Build strong rapport with participants by providing compassionate support and encouraging participation in activities
• Collaborate with team members, caregivers, and family members to tailor activities that support individual care plans
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress notes, and activity logs to monitor engagement levels and outcomes

Skills

• Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activities coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings
• Strong understanding of geriatrics, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care techniques
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with seniors, team members, families, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to develop innovative programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity for seniors
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs in a long-term care environment
• Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport through empathetic listening and personalized interactions
• Skilled in schedule management, program development, and coordinating community events that foster a lively community atmosphere
