Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to enrich the lives of our residents through engaging recreational programs and social activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in event planning, senior care, and recreational therapy, with a passion for fostering a vibrant community atmosphere. Duties

• Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging resident activities and events that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.
• Develop innovative programs that cater to residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities.
• Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, abilities, and individual care requirements.
• Coordinate with staff members to ensure activities align with residents’ schedules and care plans.
• Manage activity supplies, materials, and equipment efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
• Document participation and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Foster a lively, inclusive environment that encourages resident participation and enhances overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior care within assisted living or nursing home settings.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and aging issues counseling.
• Familiarity with program development tailored for seniors with disabilities or memory impairments.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and collaborate with team members.
• Experience working with geriatric patients in long-term care or home & community care environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes.
• Demonstrated ability to build resident rapport while maintaining professionalism and empathy.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
