Activities Co-ordinator

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
• Lead engaging group and individual activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and physical activity.
• Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ preferences and adapt activities accordingly.
• Facilitate special events, outings, and themed programs that enhance community spirit and resident engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to monitor effectiveness.
• Foster a warm, inclusive atmosphere that encourages residents to participate actively in their care community.
• Communicate regularly with families and staff about upcoming events and resident involvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with senior care or caregiving roles.
• Knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer’s care strategies to support residents with cognitive impairments.
• Strong communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Creativity in designing engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team dedicated to senior well-being.
• Prior experience coordinating activities within a care home setting is highly desirable.
