Activities Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute diverse recreational activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical well-being for residents.
• Coordinate resident events such as outings, themed parties, exercise classes, and special celebrations to enhance community engagement.
• Build relationship with residents by understanding their preferences, needs, and abilities to tailor activities accordingly.
• Collaborate with care staff to incorporate therapeutic recreation techniques that support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
• Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure timely delivery of programs while maintaining flexibility for spontaneous resident interests.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed during events or outings to ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate records of participation, resident feedback, and activity outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness and improve offerings.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or assisted living environments.
• Knowledge of geriatrics, memory care, Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, and recreational therapy techniques.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to coordinate multiple resident activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
• Compassionate attitude with a passion for enhancing the quality of life for older adults through creative programming.
