Duties

• Develop and implement innovative activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-friendly activities
• Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, fitness classes, arts and crafts sessions, and recreational therapy activities
• Build strong rapport with residents through personalized engagement and attentive communication
• Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members to assess individual resident needs and preferences for activity planning
• Manage scheduling for daily activities, ensuring timely execution and smooth operation of programs
• Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to continually improve program offerings
• Lead team members in activity execution, providing guidance and fostering a positive environment for both staff and residents
• Supervise activity department staff
• Drive community vehicles for residents

Experience

• Proven experience in event planning within assisted living and memory care settings
• Prior experience working with seniors, particularly in senior living communities
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia support strategies, and memory care programming
• Familiarity with recreational therapy techniques tailored for geriatric patients with disabilities or cognitive impairments
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage residents and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and program management purposes
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs in a senior care environment

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
