Activities Leader

Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Leader to join our vibrant team dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents. In this role, you will be the driving force behind creating engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable activities tailored to the unique needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements. Duties

• Plan, coordinate, and lead a diverse range of recreational activities and events that cater to residents’ interests and abilities, including social gatherings, arts and crafts, music therapy, and fitness programs
• Develop innovative programs focused on memory care, dementia support, and aging issues to promote resident engagement and quality of life
• Foster strong relationships with residents by building rapport through personalized interactions and attentive care during activities
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed to ensure their comfort and participation in community events
• Collaborate with team members to schedule activities that align with residents’ preferences and care plans while managing program calendars efficiently
• Communicate effectively with residents’ families and caregivers about upcoming events and resident participation to encourage involvement
• Lead efforts in coordinating resident events that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity within the community

Qualifications

• Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings; experience in nursing homes or geriatrics is highly desirable
• Strong background in recreational therapy, senior care, or caregiving roles working with older adults or individuals with disabilities
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory support techniques, and geriatric health issues
• Must have CNA license
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with seniors and their families
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs tailored for seniors with diverse needs including memory care and social challenges
• Leadership skills to motivate team members and coordinate resident-centered activities effectively

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
