Activity Assistant

Horton Plaza Retirement Community is hiring for a full-time Activity Assistant (Plus Community Chauffeur!) Position is Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. Flexibility in shifts is a must to meet the needs of our residents.Are you tired of boring desk jobs? Do you love bringing joy, energy, and a bit of adventure to people’s lives? In this role, you won't just pass the time—you will help create unforgettable memories and keep our residents living life to the absolute fullest. If you are a creative spark who loves planning epic events and hits the road with a smile, this is your perfect ride! What You’ll Do (The Fun Stuff):

• Brainstorm & Innovate: Help design, promote, and lead out-of-the-box activity calendars. Think less "ordinary bingo" and more interactive trivia, themed happy hours, virtual travelogues, and tech-savvy hobbies.
• Drive the Adventure: Take the wheel of our community van or shuttle! You'll be the ultimate captain of our excursions, driving residents out for dynamic community outings, local lunch spots, scenic tours, and shopping trips.
• Create Good Vibes: Spark social connections through parties, live entertainment, art workshops, and big celebrations.
• Connect Deeply: Build meaningful relationships with our amazing seniors, ensuring everyone feels welcome, included, and valued.

What We're Looking For:

• Energy & Imagination: You see senior living as a place of growth, laughter, and new discoveries.
• The Safe Chauffeur: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. (Comfort driving a larger community shuttle van or having a passenger endorsement is a huge plus!).
• People First Personality: Natural warmth, excellent communication, and an infectious, positive attitude.
• The Basics: Must be at least 21+ for certain vehicle insurance requirements). Passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening (including marijuana) required. Experience with Microsoft software, Canva, and technology is preferred.
