Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Activity Director, the Activities Assistant is responsible for fostering the emotional, recreational and social needs of residents.
Responsibilities include:
- Assists in developing and implementing recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment and holiday events to meet the needs of residents
- Works to keep activities fresh and interesting to seniors with varying abilities
- Assembles, dismantles, and stores equipment and supplies used in the recreation program
- Supports, encourages, and motivates residents to attend activities
- Accompanies residents to and from activities, as needed
Position Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be creative, energetic, patient and love interacting with people
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Recreation/Activities position in long-term-care preferred
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10:00am-4:30pm
AND Every other Weekend 10:00am-4:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
