Activity Assistant

Job Overview

As an Activity Assistant, you’ll bring residents together through engaging programs that support connection, creativity, and well-being. You’ll plan and coordinate activities for older adults, including residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, disabilities, or other changing needs. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with seniors and building warm, respectful relationships.

Duties

• Plan, develop, and lead recreational programs, group activities, and resident events; adapt participation to residents’ abilities and interests.
• Your impact: Thoughtful, inclusive activities help residents feel connected and supported in daily life.
• Build rapport with residents and communicate with clients, families, and care teams about interests, participation, and needs.
• Coordinate schedules, supplies, and event details; use Microsoft Office to support planning and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with caregiving staff, including when assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) within the role’s scope.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organization, and schedule-management skills; able to coordinate events and work effectively with a team.
• Experience working with seniors, geriatric patients, or individuals with disabilities; familiarity with senior care, geriatrics, memory care, dementia care, or Alzheimer’s care is valuable.
• Background in assisted living, nursing homes, senior living facilities, long-term care, or home and community care is preferred.
• Knowledge of recreational therapy, program development, caregiving, or counseling related to aging issues is an asset.
• Team leadership experience is helpful.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
