Activity Director

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for our residents in a Senior Living facility. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and contribute to their overall well-being.

Duties:

• Develop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
• Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a monthly activity calendar
• Ensure activities are tailored to the individual needs and interests of each resident
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
• Provide support and assistance to residents during activities as needed
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members
• Stay up-to-date on current trends in recreational therapy and aging issues counseling

Requirements:

• Previous experience in event planning, memory care, or recreational therapy is preferred
• Knowledge of aging issues counseling and familiarity with nursing home or assisted living settings is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff members
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with seniors
• Ability to adapt activities based on individual resident needs and abilities
• Must have a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors
