Acupuncturist

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and discuss patients’ health concerns, symptoms and treatment goals.
• Develop individualised treatment plans based on the patient’s needs and clinical presentation.
• Provide acupuncture treatments using sterile, single-use needles at selected points on the body.
• Use complementary techniques where appropriately trained, such as cupping, moxibustion, electroacupuncture or acupressure.
• Support patients with management of conditions such as musculoskeletal pain, headaches, stress, sleep difficulties and other suitable health concerns.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify treatment plans as required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records.
• Provide appropriate health education and lifestyle advice within scope of practice.
• Recognise conditions requiring medical assessment and refer or liaise with GPs and other health professionals when appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention, patient safety and professional conduct.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
