Adaptive Visual Arts Teacher

Position Summary

We are looking for a creative and resourceful Adaptive Visual Arts Instructor to facilitate tactile, multi-sensory art workshops. The instructor will empower participants to explore self-expression using painting, sculpting, collage, and mixed media with specialized adaptive tools and customized artistic techniques.

Schedule & Commitment (may be split with more than one teacher)

• Monday Evening (1/11/27 - 3/29/27): 5:00 – 6:00 PM
• Tuesday Morning: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Wednesday Mid-day: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Base Commitment: 3 teaching hours per week (+ preparation time)

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute accessible art lessons using non-toxic, sensory-friendly mediums (clay, washable paints, textured paper, fabric).
• Support fine motor skill development while prioritizing personal artistic process and creative decision-making over rigid outcomes.
• Set up, clean, and organize studio space and art supplies safely.
• Prepare artwork for participant displays and community exhibitions.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

• Background: Degree or professional background in Visual Arts, Art Education, Community Art, or Art Therapy.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with universal design in art education, tactile media, and fine-motor adaptations.
• Soft Skills: Highly encouraging, organized, imaginative, and adaptable.

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour
