Adaptive Yoga Instructor

Position Summary

We are hiring a dedicated Adaptive Yoga Instructor to lead inclusive, restorative, and empowering yoga practices. This instructor will guide participants through accessible yoga postures, breathwork (pranayama), and mindfulness techniques tailored to individuals living with physical disabilities, neurodivergence, or mobility constraints.

Schedule & Commitment

• Tuesday Morning: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM AND/OR
• Wednesday Mid-day: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Base Commitment: 1-2 classes per week (on a rotating, 8 week schedule) (+ preparation time)
• Expansion Opportunity: Opportunity to expand into after-school youth yoga and weekend relaxation sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design safe, adaptable yoga sequences incorporating chair yoga, wall supports, bolsters, blocks, and straps.
• Provide clear, accessible verbal cueing and non-invasive modifications for a wide spectrum of physical and cognitive abilities.
• Teach nervous system regulation techniques, deep breathing, and mindfulness suited for sensory processing needs.
• Create a peaceful, trauma-informed atmosphere that honors individual pace and body autonomy.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

• Certification: 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) certification required. Specialized Adaptive Yoga, Chair Yoga, or Trauma-Informed Yoga certification strongly preferred.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities, seniors, or chronic health conditions.
• Soft Skills: Patient listener, gentle demeanor, and strong ability to adjust lessons dynamically based on energy levels.

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 per week
