Adjunct Faculty - Computer Science

Vanguard University POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics seeks applications for fall and spring semester adjunct instructors for the following course:

Introduction to Computer Science (CSCI 110C)

Vanguard seeks professionals of Christian faith who are committed to integration of faith and learning in their respective fields. The applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability and a commitment to working with students of color and encouraging diversity.

Essential Functions

• Teach the above-mentioned coursework.
• Facilitate the learning of first-generation college students and incorporate culturally-relevant pedagogy within the classroom.
• Collaborate with department faculty in curriculum implementation, student support and continuous program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree (MS or MA) or higher in mathematics or related field.
• Teaching experience at the junior college or university level.
• Demonstrated teaching ability regarding 1st and 2nd year students.
• A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to an integration of faith and learning.

SALARY : The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3-unit course (144 total hours) and varies based on the faculty member's highest earned degree. Total compensation is based on the number of courses taught and corresponding units for each course.

$3,120 to $3,720 per course
