The Computer Science Department is seeking to hire an adjunct instructor to teach one in-person section of Game Development CSIS-345, for the Spring 2027 semester. The CSIS-345 course description is as follows.
Game development is a truly interdisciplinary creative process, merging software engineering with the design of graphics, sound, interfaces, and gameplay. Students in this course will learn about the tenets of game design as well as the software development tools needed by the modern game programmer. Projects in this course will provide students with the skills necessary to begin independently developing their own games.
Each section meets twice weekly with 2 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab (4 contact hours for the instructor). The instructor would be free to divide the 4 hours of class time between lecture and lab activities as appropriate. The course prerequisite is Data Structures CSIS-210 (uses Java), and the course serves as a capstone for students completing the CS major's game development track and as an upper-level elective for students in other tracks.
