Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics

Vanguard University POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics seeks applications for adjunct instructors for one or more of the following course:

College Algebra MATH116C

Positions are available for the fall and spring semesters.

Vanguard seeks professionals of Christian faith who are committed to integration of faith and learning in their respective fields. The applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability and a commitment to working with students of color and encouraging diversity.

Essential Functions

• Teach the above-mentioned coursework.
• Facilitate the learning of first-generation college students and incorporate culturally-relevant pedagogy within the classroom.
• Collaborate with department faculty in curriculum implementation, student support and continuous program improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree (MS or MA) or higher.
• Teaching experience at the junior college or university level.
• Demonstrated teaching ability regarding 1st and 2nd year students.
• A vibrant Christian faith and commitment to an integration of faith and learning.

SALARY: The following salary range reflects compensation paid for a 3-unit course (144 total hours) and varies based on the faculty member's highest earned degree. Total compensation is based on the number of courses taught and corresponding units for each course.

$3,120 to $3,720 per course

• Integration of Faith, Teaching and Scholarship. Explain how you integrate your faith with your discipline & in your teaching and scholarship.

• Majors or fields of study, undergrad & graduate majors, minors, & areas of concentration.
• With the most recent, a chronological listing of teaching experience - name and location of institutions, title/academic rank, full/part-time, dates of employment

• Publications, presentations, honors, awards, and memberships in professional organizations
• With the most recent employment, position/title, full/part-time, dates of employment
• Any other qualifying experience, paid/voluntary, other.

References - Names, e-mail, and phone numbers of at least 3 people not related to you whom we may contact for an evaluation of your professional abilities.

Pastoral reference letter - Pastor or church leader.

Transcripts - Unofficial transcripts accepted to apply. If selected, notarized transcripts are required prior to employment.
