Admin accountant

About the role

This Admin Accountant role combines administration and individual taxation responsibilities. You will manage day-to-day office operations, client communications, and records management while also preparing and lodging individual income tax returns and providing tax advice to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day office administration and client correspondence
• Maintain client records, documents, and electronic filing systems
• Follow up clients for outstanding information and supporting documents
• Schedule appointments, meetings, and client follow-ups
• Handle incoming calls, emails, and general client enquiries
• Prepare engagement documents, letters, and other administrative correspondence
• Maintain workflow records and update the status of client jobs
• Assist with invoicing, payment follow-ups, and general accounts administration
• Prepare and lodge individual income tax returns
• Review PAYG payment summaries, income statements, bank interest, dividends, and other income information

About you

• Ability to prepare and lodge individual income tax returns
• Knowledge of rental property schedules and rental income and expense calculations
• Understanding of work-related deductions and allowable tax deductions
• Ability to calculate capital gains and losses for individual taxpayers
• Experience with ATO pre-fill information and reconciliation
• Ability to prepare tax estimates and advise clients of expected refunds or tax payable
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate record keeping
