What they need

Who are we

At Draftline, we deliver tailored architectural solutions with a client-first approach. We take the time to understand each project—balancing design, budget, and practical requirements to bring our clients’ vision to life.

From concept through to consent, we manage the full process. This includes architectural drawings, 3D renders, record drawings, and design amendments, along with coordinating engineers and specialists where needed.

We simplify the complex—handling council submissions, securing approvals, and ensuring all plans meet regulatory requirements. We also provide clear planning advice so clients understand what’s possible on their site.

Our goal is simple: make the process seamless and deliver build-ready outcomes that reflect our clients’ ideas, not ours.

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Administration Assistant to join our Christchurch office and play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the branch.

As a key first point of contact for our customers, clients and visitors, you will help create a professional and welcoming experience from the moment they engage with us. You’ll manage incoming calls and enquiries, provide customer support and ensure information is directed to the right people.

You’ll provide broad administrative and operational support to the Branch Manager, Team Leaders, Technicians, and Office Manager helping keep the team organised and the office running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include general administration, data entry, reporting, document management, record keeping, scheduling support and coordinating office requirements.

You’ll also take ownership of practical office administration, including ordering and managing stationery, uniforms and office supplies, ensuring the team has everything they need to operate effectively.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys being busy, working with people and taking pride in keeping things organised. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your administration and customer service skills while gaining valuable exposure to the wider operations of the business.

About You

You are a friendly, organised and proactive person who enjoys working with people and keeping things running smoothly who takes pride in delivering great customer service and is confident being the first point of contact for customers, clients and visitors.

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in administration, customer service or a similar support role.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A proactive approach, with the initiative to identify what needs to be done and get it done.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with the Branch Manager, Team Leaders, Technicians and wider team.
  • Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A willingness to take ownership of tasks and provide support wherever needed.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in their work and understands that great administration and customer service make a real difference.

Why Join Draftline?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing organisation where your work genuinely makes a difference, and your impact is seen across every project you lead. Be part of something big as we continue to expand and shape the future of our business.

Our culture is shaped by our people: supportive, practical, and down-to-earth. We back each other, solve problems together, and don’t take ourselves too seriously—but we do take the work seriously (and yes, the office snack rankings are still fiercely debated). Expect a team that works hard, has a laugh, and gets things done without the ego.

If you are proactive, approachable, detail-focused and enjoy being the person who keeps things moving, we would love to hear from you.
