Administration/Optical Assistant

Full-Time Administrator / Optical Assistant | Matthews and Cook Eyecare

We are looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Administrator / Optical Assistant to join our team at Matthews and Cook Eyecare in Whangārei on a full-time basis.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in providing excellent service, and likes being part of a busy, supportive team. You will play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our patients, while helping keep the practice running smoothly day to day.

You will be supported by an experienced team and given the training and support you need to develop your optical knowledge and confidence in the role. Previous optical experience would be an advantage, but it’s not essential.

• Previous optical or healthcare experience is advantageous, but not essential

What you will be doing:

• Welcoming patients and providing a warm, professional experience
• Managing appointments, phone calls and general administration
• Supporting the Optometrists and wider team
• Assisting patients throughout their optical journey
• Helping with frame selection and other aspects of the patient experience
• Processing orders and helping with the smooth running of the practice
