The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Administrator to support our Auckland Laboratory team.

This is a permanent, full-time role, 40 hours/week, Mondays to Fridays. Start and end times can be flexible for the right candidate.

As a key member of the laboratory team, you'll provide administrative support that helps ensure the smooth delivery of fertility services. This role combines administration, patient interaction, coordination, documentation management and support for laboratory processes.

This is purely an administrative role to help out our specialist Laboratory team.

Key responsibilities

The main purpose of your position would be to support the Laboratory team by assisting with general administrative tasks and non-clinical laboratory duties. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage data entry, documentation and accurate record keeping
  • Coordinate patient paperwork and maintain laboratory records
  • Support patient communications via phone and email
  • Coordinate appointments and assist with patient pathway administration
  • Monitor, receive and manage laboratory stock and supplies
  • Assist with PGT (genetic testing) administration and sample dispatch processes
  • Support laboratory scheduling
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with quality standards and protocols
  • Provide general administrative support to the laboratory team

Ideal candidate, skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence working with systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to follow established procedures and maintain high standards of compliance
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support others
  • The ability to work effectively in a busy, changing environment

Experience in healthcare, medical administration or fertility services would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and enjoys contributing to a team that makes a meaningful difference in people's lives.

This is not a role for someone with an interest in stepping up in the future into a laboratory role.
