What they need

Full-time | 37.5 hours per week | Fixed-term maternity cover

Stonyhurst is looking for a highly organised, personable and enthusiastic Admissions Registrar to join our Admissions team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover.

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the Stonyhurst community. You will often be one of the first points of contact for prospective families and will play an important part in ensuring they receive a warm, professional and highly personalised experience from their initial enquiry through to joining the School.

Working closely with the Senior Registrar, Director of Admissions and wider Admissions team, you will manage the administration associated with prospective pupils and their families, maintaining regular communication and ensuring our admissions records are accurate and up to date throughout their journey.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective families
  • Building positive relationships with families and providing a friendly, personalised service throughout the admissions process
  • Maintaining accurate information on the admissions database
  • Coordinating visits for prospective pupils and their families
  • Following up enquiries, registrations and visits
  • Liaising with colleagues across Stonyhurst to ensure families receive an excellent experience
  • Supporting the organisation of Open Days and other recruitment events
  • Assisting with entrance examinations, assessments and scholarship arrangements
  • Liaising with the Bursary team regarding deposits and bursary applications.

About you

We are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

You will be organised and logical, comfortable managing a busy and varied workload and confident communicating with people at all levels. Strong IT skills are important, including experience of Microsoft Office, and previous experience of using databases or data-entry systems would be advantageous.

Previous admissions experience within a school or university would be beneficial, but is not essential. More important is your ability to build relationships, communicate warmly and professionally and provide an outstanding experience for prospective families.

As a member of the Stonyhurst community, you will also be comfortable supporting and promoting the values and ethos of an independent Catholic day and boarding school.

Working at Stonyhurst

The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some evening and weekend commitments will be required, particularly in connection with Open Days and other School events.

Benefits include:

  • 6.4 weeks annual leave including Bank Holidays
  • Employer pension contribution of up to 6%, matched to employee contributions
  • Free meals in the Refectory during working hours
  • Free use of Stonyhurst's sporting facilities, including swimming, gym, golf and fishing
  • Access to Healthshield, our wellbeing and discount scheme
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Staff fee remission scheme, subject to eligibility.

Safeguarding

Stonyhurst is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be expected to share this commitment and uphold our safeguarding policies and high standards of professional conduct. Stonyhurst is also committed to equality, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice.

If you are an organised, approachable and customer-focused individual who enjoys building relationships and would like to play an important part in welcoming the next generation of Stonyhurst families, we would love to hear from you.
