What they need

Saint Joseph's Center is looking for an Adoption Caseworker in our Maternity and Family Services department. In this role, you’ll do work that changes the course of a child’s life. Through the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN), you’ll prepare children for adoption, guide families through each step of the process, and help create lasting matches. You’ll also support expectant and new mothers in our Infant Adoption, Mother Infant, and Walsh Manor programs, walking alongside them at some of the most important moments of their lives.

Why You'll Love St. Joseph's Center

At St. Joseph’s Center, your work truly matters. Every role plays a part in supporting individuals to live with dignity, purpose, and opportunity. You’ll be part of a collaborative, respectful team that values compassion, accountability, and shared mission. We invest in our employees through ongoing training and professional development, fostering a culture of learning and growth. As a long-standing and trusted organization in our community, St. Joseph’s Center offers stability, support, and the chance to make a meaningful impact every day—both for the people we serve and the teams you lead.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver SWAN units of service, including Child Preparation, Child Profile, Child Specific Recruitment, Family Profile, Family Matching, Placement, and Adoption Finalization.
  • Meet regularly with children, biological families, foster/kinship families, and adoptive families, scheduling sessions flexibly around their availability.
  • Help match waiting children with waiting families, and provide support and crisis assistance to clients and caregivers throughout the permanency process.
  • Provide case management for the Infant Adoption program and present occasional Life Skills classes to residents of the Mother Infant and Walsh Manor programs.
  • Complete interviews, assessments, reports, case notes, and time tracking, and maintain accurate client and family files.
  • Collaborate with county workers, provide in-home family trainings, attend required SWAN meetings and conferences, and travel as needed.

What You’ll Get

  • Compensation - Starting at $45,825 based on experience and responsibilities.
  • Health & Wellness - Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance, plus 24/7 no cost telehealth for you and your family.
  • Security and Peace of Mind - Company paid short term disability and life insurance, along with a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account
  • Balance That Matters - Paid time off and holidays so you can recharge and enjoy life outside of work.
  • Growth & Future Planning - A 401(K) with company contribution and match, tuition reimbursement, and paid training to keep you moving forward. Paid Parental Leave available after one year of employment.
  • Extra Perks - Employee referral bonuses, national and local discounts, and access to our Employee Assistance program for counseling, legal, financial, and family support resources.

Here, you'll find more than a job - you'll find a place that invests in your well-being, your growth and your future.

What’s Required of You

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or another related field.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
