Location: Multiple locations including NEACCC and Adult Education Centers in Leachville, Osceola and/or Blytheville

Job Description:

Arkansas Northeastern College is seeking a dynamic and flexible Adult Basic Education Teacher to serve full time at NEACCC to join our adult education team. This position is ideal for a versatile educator who is committed to helping adults improve their basic educational proficiency. The role requires adaptability and creativity in meeting the diverse needs of justice involved students, including working adults and community members seeking to enhance their educational and professional opportunities.

This position is primarily responsible for providing education working with justice involved residents of the Northeast Arkansas Community Corrections Center as needed and general adult basic education where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

● Design and deliver engaging adult basic education lessons to adult learners.

● Conduct classes at various locations, including local employers and our adult education centers in Leachville, Osceola or Blytheville.

● Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult learners.

● Maintain flexible hours

● Assess student progress and provide feedback to help learners achieve their educational goals.

● Participate in curriculum development and adapt teaching materials as needed to align with student needs and program objectives.

● Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to support student success and program effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Adult Education, or a related field.

● Current Arkansas Teacher’s License (must obtain Adult Education licensure within three

years of employment)

● Demonstrated experience in education.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to adapt to changing environments and needs.

● Experience working with justice involved individuals

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience working in adult education settings.

● Familiarity with educational needs of adult learners in a community college setting. ● Master’s Degree

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position, subject to budget availability.

● Approximately 6 hours per day of student contact time for a total of 185 days throughout the year.

Compensation:

● Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications as defined in ANC Policy

● Benefits package available, including health, dental, and retirement plans - if full time employment is awarded.
