Every day, ANDRITZ continues to deliver successful innovative solutions to our customers globally. Why are we so successful? Because we are passionate and love what we do! We are at the forefront of future engineering technologies, with solutions that ensure the success of our clients in key industries that are shaping the future of the world we live in.

Who we are:
ANDRITZ is a leading international technology group that provides plants, equipment, automation, digital solutions, and lifecycle services for process industries. With around 30,000 employees and 280+ locations across more than 40 countries, ANDRITZ helps customers improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability through advanced engineering, automation, and digitalization technologies.

ANDRITZ Pulp & Paper Automation & Digitalization combines deep process expertise with advanced automation, AI, and digital technologies to help mills improve efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and profitability. The portfolio spans the entire pulp, paper, tissue, board, and power production value chain, covering automation systems, electrification, instrumentation, advanced process control, digital twins, asset management, cybersecurity, and autonomous operations. The strategic vision is to enable the Autonomous Mill, where process optimization, decision support, and intelligent automation work together to maximize production performance while minimizing energy consumption, raw material usage, emissions, and operational risks.

The close cooperation between our automation experts and all business areas within the ANDRITZ GROUP means a concentration of process knowledge that creates significant advantages and customer-focused solutions.

About the opportunity:
Our Pulp and Paper Automation & Digitalization division is looking for a customer-focused Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer to join their Digital Products & Solutions team in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As an APC Engineer, you will work alongside our team of process and automation experts to provide guidance and solutions to our Pulp & Paper customers that will optimize their industrial processes, improve quality, and enhance operational efficiency. Your expertise and guidance will be instrumental in achieving these objectives and ensuring customer satisfaction.

What you will be doing:
Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

You will apply your deep knowledge of process control and automation systems to understand and analyze the specific processes within the Pulp & Paper industry. This expertise will enable you to identify areas where advanced control strategies can be implemented to improve efficiency and quality.

As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate closely with our customers to assess their existing processes, identify pain points, and understand their production objectives. Based on this analysis you will provide recommendations and technical support to implement advanced control solutions.

Working with our team of process and automation experts, you will design and develop advanced control solutions tailored to the unique needs of each customer. This may involve the design of control algorithms and the integration of sensors and instrumentation.

You will oversee the implementation of advanced control systems in the customer's mill. This may involve configuring and tuning control loops, conducting system testing, and ensuring seamless integration with existing automation systems.

You will use ANDRITZ’ proprietary METRIS software to continuously monitor and analyze mill performance. This includes analyzing real-time data, diagnosing any issues or deviations, and fine-tuning the control algorithms as necessary to optimize process performance.

Your expertise will play a pivotal role in improving product quality. By implementing advanced control strategies, you can help minimize variations, reduce defects, and ensure consistent product quality, which is critical in the Pulp & Paper industry.

You may be involved in training our customer’s personnel to operate and maintain the advanced control systems effectively. Knowledge transfer is essential to ensure the long-term success of these solutions.

Who you are:
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in process control and automation

Basic knowledge of Chemical, Pulp & Paper, and other related industrial processes

Valid passport and ability to travel up to 20-50% of the time

What we offer:
