Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II Technologist

Are you an experienced Level II who enjoys the challenge of outage work, leading teams, and turning code requirements into practical, high‑quality examinations? If so, this role is for you.

What You’ll Take On

  • Conduct NDT per written procedures and interpret results against the relevant standards and specifications across nuclear and non‑nuclear settings.
  • Act as project supervisor during customer outages—coordinate daily activities on site and report progress and findings directly to the customer.
  • Pursue Level III certification across multiple disciplines while helping to shape and improve inspection techniques and procedures.

Daily Focus Areas

  • Translate codes and standards into workable procedures that satisfy customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop new inspection approaches and refine existing ones for diverse applications.
  • Mentor Trainees and Level I/II personnel; if less experienced, be open to mentorship and professional development.
  • Build procedures and examination plans to prepare for field projects.
  • Engage in performance-based training to obtain/maintain certifications and stay current with technology.
  • Complete safety training for hazardous environments; operate safety equipment and systems as required.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including automated systems and computer networks.
  • Execute work to a high standard within qualified procedures and guidelines; record and manage all quality-related issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and cross-functional teams; demonstrate strong customer sensitivity.
  • Travel as needed, maintain Unescorted Access at Nuclear Power Plants, and work with hazardous materials in line with training and controls.

Where You’ll Be and Who You’ll Report To

Based at our Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA, you will report to the Manager of NDE Programs.

Travel Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience inspecting nuclear and/or non‑nuclear power plants or related facilities to industry-recognized requirements.
  • Capability to certify to an employer-based written practice compliant with ASNT CP‑189 and ASME Section XI; multi‑discipline proficiency in UT, VT‑1/2/3, MT, PT, and ET.
  • Working knowledge of the ASME Code.
  • Willingness and ability to travel during outage seasons and periodically during off‑peak periods.
