Job Role

The Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer, having worked on Aspen, Honeywell, and Yokogawa APC platforms, will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of APC applications within our petrochemical plants and refinery operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of Aspen, Honeywell, and Yokogawa APC applications.
• Analyse process data to identify opportunities for implementing advanced process control strategies, statistical process control (SPC), and multivariate data analysis.
• Develop and configure APC models, including multivariable predictive control (MPC).
• Integrate APC with DCS (Distributed Control Systems), SCADA, and PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell Experion, and Rockwell).
• Implement APC solutions using modern APC platforms (e.g., Aspen DMCplus, Honeywell Profit Controller, Yokogawa ExaSMOC, etc.).
• Ensure all APC designs and implementations comply with company safety standards, industry best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Optimize PID control loops and process automation.
• Experience working with industrial data historians (e.g., OSIsoft PI) and data analytics tools for data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with major Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens, Rockwell).
• Hands-on experience with steady-state and dynamic process simulators (Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS).
• Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), HAZOP, LOPA studies, and other risk assessments.
