What they need

Advanced Quality Engineer (m/f/d) | CAIP Hungary ( Nyíregyháza)

CAIP Group is a global Tier 1 automotive supplier for premium interior components — instrument panels, door panels, and decorative trims — for leading European OEMs. We are building a new plant in Nyíregyháza and launching our first European programs from it.

As Advanced Quality Engineer you own quality in the project phase: you are the person who decides whether a part is ready to go to the customer, and the person the customer talks to when it is not.

Your responsibilities

APQP project quality

  • Run the full APQP cycle for new programs: quality plan, DFMEA and PFMEA moderation, control plan, inspection standards, and work instructions.
  • Drive milestone delivery through prototype, OTS, PPAP, and SOP against the customer timing plan.
  • Own the customer PPAP submission end to end — dimensional reports, material certificates, capability studies, reliability tests, traceability documentation.

Prototype and pre-series quality

  • Manage sample inspection, full dimensional verification, and MSA / GR&R studies for the measurement systems.
  • Control and drive out typical injection molding and welding defects — weld lines, flow marks, gap and flush deviation, ultrasonic weld failures, assembly variation, cosmetic issues on Class-A surfaces.
  • Qualify gauges and fixtures and secure measurement stability before series release.

Risk prevention

  • Moderate cross-functional FMEA reviews for product design and manufacturing process.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in tooling, sequential valve gate control, welding fixtures, and equipment variation.
  • Define error-proofing, incoming quality standards, and final inspection criteria; establish full production traceability.

Pilot run and SOP release

  • Monitor trial runs, document non-conformances, and lead 8D root-cause analysis through to verified closure.
  • Improve process consistency and equipment stability until the customer's SOP release criteria are met.

Supplier quality in the project phase

  • Support new supplier audits and evaluation; define project-specific supplier quality requirements.
  • Review supplier PPAP packages and sample quality; track and close early supplier issues before they reach our line.

Changes and customer interface

  • Assess the quality impact of ECNs and engineering changes; manage deviation approvals with the customer.
  • Maintain quality documentation: drawings, inspection files, test data, process records.
  • Support customer audits, VDA 6.3 process audits, and OEM project reviews on site.
  • Write and defend English-language 8D reports until every customer concern is formally closed.

Your profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Technology, or comparable.
  • 3+ years in advanced quality / project quality in automotive components; interior or injection molding background strongly preferred.
  • Confident with the core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC. Practical working knowledge of IATF 16949 and the VDA series, in particular VDA 6.3.
  • Able to read 2D and 3D drawings independently; solid understanding of injection molding, ultrasonic welding, and assembly processes.
  • Familiar with caliper, height gauge, gap and flush gauges, and CMM measurement.
  • Fluent English for technical reporting and direct customer contact. Hungarian is a strong advantage; German is valuable for German OEM programs.
  • Structured problem solver (5Why, Ishikawa, 8D) who can push a corrective action across departments to closure.

What we offer

  • Ownership of quality in the launch phase of a new European plant — you set the standards rather than inherit them.
  • Direct customer contact with premium European OEMs from day one.
  • Short decision paths to plant and program management.

Join us and play a key role in CAIP’s European transformation!

Other offers great for you!
