What they need

Corvid Technologies has multiple opportunities for students pursuing undergraduate and graduate Aerospace Engineering degrees to work with our team to analyze, develop, design, manufacture and test next-generation products for Government and Commercial customers. Aerospace Engineers (and similar STEM degree seeking) students can work within many areas across Corvid, with sample tasking ranging from developing and analyzing aerothermal properties for hypersonic systems to building guided missiles used to test missile defense systems. Our teams also support CFD and Multiphysics analysis for aerospace systems, including analyzing and predicting flight performance and safety boundaries for test events. At Corvid, our engineers work on challenging, technical tasks, and our interns work alongside the engineers, expanding their technical knowledge and gaining exposure to the defense industry with firsthand experience.

Opportunities will be available in most Corvid locations and across our primary business areas:

  • Advanced Strike - Delivering mission-proven lethality solutions through advanced modeling, testing, and rapid prototyping. Our expertise spans warheads, fuzing, and blast and ballistic analysis for U.S. and allied weapons programs
  • Digital Engineering Solutions - Delivering advanced digital engineering by combining AI, high-fidelity modeling and simulation, immersive visualization, and high-performance computing to accelerate design and drive optimized, data-driven solutions
  • Launch Systems - Designing and delivering robust launch systems and target solutions that provide precise, repeatable performance to support hypersonic testing, weapons evaluation, and mission-critical system validation
  • ManufacturingPrototyping - Bridging digital design and physical reality through rapid prototyping, advanced manufacturing, and integrated test and evaluation
  • Missile Defense - Strengthening Missile Defense Agency missions through modeling, simulation, testing, and engineering support that accelerates threat-informed, mission-ready missile defense solutions
  • Range Engineering - Providing comprehensive range systems support by combining advanced computational analysis with mobile, multi-domain on-range operations, maintenance, and sustainment to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget test execution

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen, and some positions will require an ability to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
  • Pursuing an Aerospace Engineering (or similar STEM discipline) degree with at least a 3.0 GPA (Graduate students are welcome to apply as well)
  • Demonstrated understanding of coursework related to academic pursuits and technical projects relevant to specific areas of interest
  • Ability to work at least 8-10 weeks on-site over the course of the summer (typically mid/late May through early August)

Why Intern Here:

Corvid offers a unique combination of cutting-edge defense technology, hands-on experience, and a culture that invests in its people. Our internship program gives students the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while gaining exposure to the technologies and challenges shaping the future of national defense.

Interns work on real technical projects alongside experienced engineers, subject matter experts, and mentors. They will have opportunities to interact with organizational leaders throughout the company. The program is designed to build technical skills while challenging interns to think creatively and discover new ways to apply what they already know.

Beyond work, Corvid interns become part of a culture that values collaboration, professional development, and having fun. From networking and mentorship opportunities to team events, the Corvid internship experience is designed to be both rewarding both inside and outside the office.

About Corvid:

Corvid is a non-traditional defense contractor with over two decades of experience providing end-to-end solutions including: concept development, design and optimization, prototype build, test, manufacture and fielding.

Corvid specializes in complex engineering for defense applications ranging from concept development, design, prototyping, production, to testing. We leverage the predictive capabilities of our high-fidelity physics solvers, digital engineering tools, supercomputers, and our advanced manufacturing, ballistics, mechanics and laser labs to investigate high-rate physics phenomena and accelerate system development cycles.
