Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering Intern

Aerosapien Technologies is seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Intern to support engineering, manufacturing, and procurement activities. The intern will assist with reviewing engineering drawings, preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs), identifying required components and materials, and sourcing parts from qualified suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical and aerospace engineering drawings.
• Understand dimensions, tolerances, materials, finishes, and drawing notes.
• Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) from drawings and assemblies.
• Identify raw materials, machined parts, sheet-metal components, fasteners, hardware, and COTS items.
• Source components and materials from qualified suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare RFQs, obtain quotations, and compare pricing, lead times, and technical compliance.
• Verify sourced components against drawing and engineering requirements.
• Support engineering changes, BOM revisions, and technical documentation updates.
• Review CAD models, STEP files, and related manufacturing documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support manufacturing processes including machining, laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5 is preferred.
• Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, research, communication, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), where required for access to export-controlled, aerospace, defense, or customer-restricted technical information.

Pay: $1,600.00 - $1,800.00 per month
