What they need

AETC is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Associate to support our production team by making sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time. In this entry-level role, you'll pull, stage, and issue parts and components to production work orders, verifying part numbers, quantities, revisions, and lot numbers to maintain full material traceability. You'll also help receive and put away incoming materials, perform cycle counts, keep stockrooms clean and organized, and flag shortages or inventory discrepancies. Working closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain, you'll play a key part in keeping work orders complete and on schedule. This position involves handling energetic materials in a regulated aerospace and defense manufacturing environment, so candidates must be U.S. Persons and able to pass an ATF background check. Prior warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. We're looking for someone reliable, accurate, and eager to learn, and we'll provide training on our inventory systems and procedures.

Pull and stage parts, components, and materials for production work orders.

  • Verify part numbers, quantities, revisions, lot numbers, and other identifying information before issuing material.
  • Issue inventory to work orders using AETC's inventory system.
  • Ensure materials are properly identified and maintain required lot and material traceability.
  • Maintain organized and accurate inventory locations throughout the facility.
  • Perform inventory movements, transfers, and location adjustments as required.
  • Return unused material from production to the appropriate inventory locations.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and putting away incoming materials.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Assist in investigating inventory discrepancies and report them to the Supply Chain Supervisor.
  • Help monitor material availability for upcoming production and communicate shortages or concerns.
  • Maintain proper segregation and identification of production material, finished goods, scrap, and other controlled inventory.
  • Follow FIFO, shelf-life, and material handling requirements where applicable.
  • Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, contamination, loss, or improper mixing of lots.
  • Maintain clean and organized stockrooms, inventory shelves, and material staging areas.
  • Complete required inventory documentation accurately and maintain appropriate records.
  • Work closely with Production to ensure work order kits are complete and available when scheduled.
  • Coordinate with Quality when material requires inspection, approval, or additional documentation before use.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, security, and material-control procedures.
  • Follow ATF and company requirements for the storage, handling, and recordkeeping of explosive and energetic materials.
  • Assist Supply Chain with additional inventory, receiving, shipping, and material-handling activities as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Must be able to pass an ATF background check and be approved as an employee possessor of explosives under AETC's federal explosives license.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62).
  • Ability to read and understand part numbers, work orders, bills of material (BOMs), drawings, labels, and inventory documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn inventory and ERP software.
  • Ability to accurately count and verify quantities of components and materials.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize material requirements based on production schedules and changing priorities.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate problems clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, accountability, and consistent attendance.

Preferred:

  • Previous inventory, warehouse, stockroom, manufacturing, or material-control experience.
  • Experience working in an aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory or ERP software, especially Rootstock ERP or Salesforce.
  • Inventory/Warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use handheld scanners, scales, and label printers.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of the importance of safety and security when handling hazardous or controlled materials.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of controlled and export-restricted information.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
