AFTER-SCHOOL ASSISTANT

About the Role

The Oakwood Montessori School is seeking a caring, responsible and experienced After-School Assistant to support the care and supervision of children during the school's after-school programme.

The ideal candidate should enjoy working with children and be able to provide a safe, calm and engaging environment for them after regular school hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for children during the after-school programme.
• Assist children with homework and simple learning activities.
• Organise and supervise age-appropriate play and activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
• Support children with, changing, snacks, meals and other routine needs.
• Encourage good behaviour, cooperation and respect.
• Assist with the safe and orderly dismissal of children to authorised parents/guardians.
• Keep the classroom and activity areas clean and organised.
• Report any concerns regarding a child's behaviour or well-being to the appropriate staff.
• Work closely with teachers and other members of the school team.
• Follow the school's policies and procedures.

Requirements

• SSCE or OND.
• Previous experience working with children is required.
• Experience in a school, creche, nursery, Montessori school, childcare centre or similar setting is an advantage.
• Must be patient, caring and responsible.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be attentive and able to supervise children effectively.
• Must be punctual, reliable and willing to work as part of a team.
• Good personal hygiene and professional conduct.
• A genuine interest in working with children.

Pay: From ₦60,000.00 per month
