School Cleaner – Afternoon Shifts | Parson Cross, Sheffield S5

£13.45 per hour | 14.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Term time

NowThen Cleaners is looking for a dependable cleaner to join our team at a school in Parson Cross, Sheffield.

You’ll look after your own section of the building, helping to keep the school clean, hygienic and ready for pupils and staff each morning. This role suits someone who enjoys practical work, notices the details and can work steadily without close supervision.

Your working hours

• Monday and Friday: 3.15pm–6.00pm
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 3.15pm–6.15pm
• Total: 14.5 hours per week

This is a term-time position covering approximately 38–39 weeks of the year, with no regular cleaning shifts during the school holidays. You must be available for all five afternoon shifts and able to travel reliably to the S5 location.

What the role involves

You’ll follow a cleaning schedule for your allocated area, with duties including:

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors and communal spaces
• Keeping toilets and washrooms clean and hygienic
• Vacuuming and mopping floors
• Wiping desks, surfaces and frequently touched areas
• Emptying bins and replacing liners
• Using and storing cleaning products and equipment safely
• Reporting faults, supply shortages or cleaning concerns promptly

You’ll be part of a wider cleaning team while taking responsibility for completing your own area to a consistent standard.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is punctual, thorough and takes pride in their work. Professional cleaning experience is helpful, particularly in a school or similar setting.

You’ll need to be comfortable following instructions, organising your tasks within the shift and communicating respectfully with colleagues and school staff. You must also follow our health and safety requirements and the school’s safeguarding and security procedures.

Recruitment and safeguarding

Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check for the Child Workforce, references and verification of your right to work in the UK.

Successful applicants will be required to complete relevant safeguarding training and a site induction.
