Mountain Area Youth Organization, known throughout our community as MY Club, provides safe, positive, and engaging programs for children and teens throughout our mountain communities. Our programs combine academic support, enrichment, recreation, leadership development, arts, STEM, athletics, and plenty of opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and have fun.

Position Overview

MY Club is looking for energetic, dependable, and positive individuals to join our team as Part-Time Program Assistants.

Program Assistants work directly with children in our afterschool programs and help create an environment where every child feels safe, welcomed, included, and excited to participate.

This is not a position where you sit on the sidelines and supervise from a distance. We are looking for people who will get involved—play basketball, help with homework, lead a craft, participate in a game, help with STEM projects, talk with kids, and bring positive energy to the program.

What You'll Do

• Supervise and actively engage with children during the afterschool program.
• Lead and participate in games, sports, arts and crafts, STEM activities, enrichment projects, and other activities.
• Assist students with homework and academic support.
• Help prepare and clean up activities, snacks, equipment, and program spaces.
• Build positive and appropriate relationships with youth.
• Encourage teamwork, leadership, confidence, kindness, and good sportsmanship.
• Support children with different abilities, personalities, and needs.
• Help maintain established routines, expectations, and behavior standards.
• Monitor children closely and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, parents, and school personnel.
• Assist with special events, field trips, sports activities, and other MY Club programs as needed.
• Follow MY Club policies and all required safety procedures.

Previous experience working with children is helpful, but attitude, reliability, and the ability to connect positively with kids are extremely important to us.

Schedule

This is a part-time position primarily during afterschool hours, Monday through Friday. Exact schedules and hours may vary depending on the MY Club site and school calendar.

Additional hours may occasionally be available for school breaks, summer programs, special events, field trips, and athletic programs.

Requirements

Applicants must be able to meet MY Club's employment and program requirements, including applicable background screening, TB clearance, and required training. Applicants must also be able to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities and perform the physical responsibilities associated with supervising youth.
